Speedy post here, snookums. Just thought I'd share some recent creations. I did these just for funzies. I'm calling this "The Red Balloon Series." Because that's not at all obvious and very creative and endearing. (hi, sarcasm.) Do you like them? Oh really, you do? Well, gosh, maybe you should PURCHASE THEM. Maybe. If you want. (See how classy and discreet I am, just casually mentioning how they are at a very reasonable price over at etsy? High quality prints? Very unique? I am annoying? Yes, yes, yes, yes!)

But I hope you like them. They were fun to create! I'm obsessing over this line/ shading style. I used it for my play posters and have been abusing them ever since. In a good way. I think.

These fellows all link up to their listing (i.e. just click and buy! simple pimple!) or you can check out the rest of my shop here.

Anyways. I thought I'd shoot you all another hypothetical question because I'm a dork and I get a real kick from your answers. (Oh sweet golly. I just said "I get a real kick." Remember when I said "I'm a dork"? Yeah.) By the way, these questions are stolen from "Klosterman Questions." To be honest, I don't know oodles about them. But I picked up one of his books at the library today, so I'll be giving it a whirl shortly. (Along with approximately 214lbs of other books that I picked up. My arm is no longer in its socket. I learned how to work the dewey decimal system. All by myself! Aw, I'm growing up! I was going to ask an attractive male to help me (because nothing's hotter than knowing the dewey!), but there weren't any attractive males present in my vicinity. Or any other people, really.) ANYWAYS. Question time!

You can listen to this beautiful song while pondering the question. I am caring like that.

In long... You have a brain tumor. Though there is no discomfort at the moment, this tumor would unquestionably kill you in six months. However, your life can (and will) be saved by an operation; the only downside is that there will be a brutal incision to your frontal lobe. After the surgery, you will be significantly less intelligent. You will still be a fully functioning adult, but you will be less logical, you will have a terrible memory, and you will have little ability to understand complex concepts or difficult ideas. The surgery is in two weeks. How do you spend the next fourteen days?

In short... You are having an operation for a brain tumor in two weeks. You will be a fully functioning adult, but significantly less intelligent (less logical, terrible memory, unable to understand complex concepts). How do you spend the next fourteen days?

Have a Thuper Thursday! (That's "Super." With a lisp. Because that creates alliteration. I'm really obsessing over childish alliteration. This is not a good thing. I'm very in tuned with the grade six Lexy. And that's just weird.)

(If you don't have etsy, but you are interested in buying these prints, please contact me: lexyht[at]hotmail[dot]com. We'll werkkk it out.)

I would be thrilled to have such aptitude for illustration as you do!!

Ah Nooo this is a gloomy hypothetical :( Right I would go on a quest (wouldn't know where to begin) to awaken my spirituality and soul to a higher awakening and consciousnesses, so though the mind becomes weak after the surgery, my soul stays strong!

I am in love with your artwork! You are wonderfully talented, and I'm so glad to run into other talented artists among the blogging world.

Anyways, back to the question.

I will probably attempt to understand a bit of calculus, memorize a difficult piano piece, and go bungee jumping. I think. Yeah. That last one seems unlikely. Maybe I'll do that when I have terrible memory.

I really love your questions, they always seem so deep and I'd like thinking about how to answer them! It would be really hard for me, because I wouldn't be sure if I even WANTED that surgery. People tell me I'm quite smart for a girl my age and I get that too: I'd find stuff like conspiracy theories really interesting and I think that would turn out to be too hard for me after the operation. The next two weeks.. I think I'll be 24/7 googling around and make up a good theory about one of my favorite conspiracy thingys. Write it down and put it somewhere humankind will find it so they'll know I was always right. Haha. And after the surgery, I'll hope I'm still able to write songs and blog.

Omg those are so cute! I swear, I'm going to beg my mom to buy ALL of them (because I'm so broke I can't even afford to buy a candy bar at the store).

Ahhh I hate difficult questions like these. What's sad is that I'll probably do the same things I usually do: google random stuff. Well, I'd probably read a difficult piece of literature (like War and Peace or something), play piano incessantly, perfect my French more, you know, the usual stuff :P

I think I would love your dad. Not in a creepy way, but in an I-love-my-best-friend's-dad kind of way. Because, of course, we would be besties. DUH.

You are way too artistically talented. I'm totally jealous. I wish I had skillzzzzz.

you do good work :) pretty illustrations, completely and utterly charming. To answer your question I would spend my next fourteen days I would take the whole emotional route and spend time with loved ones cherishing our memories, that's my oversentimental riff :)

To answer your question, I'd do something devious the day before the accident because I could totally use the excuse that I forgot, muhahahaha! Seriously though, I'd probably opt out of the operation and just take my chances.

Hi There,
Thank you for visiting my blog and the super nice comments.
You have a fun blog. I enjoyed reading your post. I like bloggers with sense of humor and I am loving your artwork and will check out your shop shortly after I post.
Interesting question there. I value my intelligence but I value my life more so obviously yes to the surgery (I know that was not part of your question). I guess I would spend the 2 weeks putting my affairs in order like my will, retirement plans, kids college funds etc... Can't think of anything else.

As usual, amazing illustrations! And I'm done @ your dad calling him 'Justin Beaver'. I even prefer it to his real name. Ha.

SHUT UP. These drawings are amazing. You really need to write quirky off-beat children's books. I'm cereal.

And I would definitely try and write as much as possible if I only had 14 days to be a fully-functioning adult. It sucks that I always think its what I want to do in my head but never get around to actually doing it. 14 days to write my last story--now there's an interesting concept.

I do not even like to think about what life would be like without the intelligence I have. I am already stupid ha. I would not like to be any dumber. Ah, that question is scary. I do not even want to think about that...I already said that. Anyway, cool song, I like her voice. Weird, cool video. I like weird ha. Nice paintings! I'd love to buy them for a friend but I wonder how much they are...I'm a college student so I can only afford so much haha. Thank you for your comment on my blog. I greatly appreciate it! I think you have an amazing blog and love the way you write!

Wow, your prints are quite incredible! You're an awesome artist on top of everything else, I see. I tried to view this post earlier but my internet decided I didn't need to, like, see any images. Which is counter-productive. Anyway.

Let's talk about this question of yours, now. First, can I break the supposed rules of this hypothetical and tell you that I'd rather not go through with the surgery? If I'm not allowed to say that, I guess I'd buy a plane ticket to both Japan and Venezuela to visit people I haven't seen in ages but still intend to. And then I'd return home and spend the rest of the time I had with friends and family here before I became a babbling pile of human mush.

OMG you did these??!! They are awesome!! I love.

I love the prints you have created. They are beautiful.

Now on to your question...I can't really decide what I would do. Would I want to spend my time with friends and family crushing them at brainac games like scrabble that I constantly be them at right now or solving math problems (it's my favorite subject)? Would I just spend time having fun creating videos and scrapbooks? What about writing a huge lon letter to myself explaining all kinds of different things that I know, but probably won't after the surgery? It's really hard to say.

Hahahaha sorry, I read "less logical, horrible memory, unable to understand complex concepts" and thought... but I'm already like that!

Great prints!! I really love your artwork, it's quirky and fun with attention to detail, just like your style :)

I'd probably make myself a "I was a smart girl once" scrapbook filled with all the intelligent/"intelligent" things I've accomplished. Then I could look over it post-surgery and salvage some shred of self esteem when the assholes of the world start to turn on me.

oh ya, and get drunk. Hey, the brain cells will be dying regardless.

That's a bit of a sad hypothesis I'm not too fond of :( Spend as much time with my family, friends, and with God in prayer. Sing, dance, eat and laugh. Document these moments in photos and look over them over and over again. I won't get bored cause I won't remember that I just flipped through the album a minute ago.

Love your illustrations and the pastel colours you used. Pretty pretty.

they're gorgeous! might ask mum if i can purchase some, maybe for christmas/my birthday.

oh no! then how will i do all my future latin exams?
i'd probably do some translating and latin exercises that i like and sadly inform my awesome teacher that i cant do latin anymore. play as much violin as possible, have intelligent conversations with myself and watch inception! (:
