puff the magic dragon

Here is the moment you have all been waiting for! The unicorn post! Oh shucks! Did I just say unicorn?! Now your expectations are far too high! I mean, I am a unicorn! Just... just... just read between the lines, er, pictures! Er... *Nervous chuckle as reader continues to peruse through post, a frown gradually forming on reader's face as unicorn is not present* (This could get awkward.)

I specifically remember nothing significant happening on this day. Except for maybe the fact that I wore leopard tights and polka dots. Hey now, I was stopped by the imaginary fashion police (4:45 mark)! I committed a crime! I'm a rebel! My life is significant! Hollaaaa boiz. Hollaaaa baby Spears. (Don't get the reference?! Pfft, you're so not "all that.") (Hah! I'm funny!) (Yeah. Check out the video.)

In lieu of leopard-related shinanegans, I painted my nails with the letters "RAWR" because 1) I'm that cool and 2) I have that much time. Oh how I wish both of these phrases were true. The truth of the matter is 1) I'm NOT that cool and 2) I DON'T have much time (gotta love them contractions!). The truth of the real matter is that my school had a house competition type of thing (think Harry Potter) (I don't even like/read/know Harry Potter) (but pop-culture references give me "mainstream" appeal, so everyone's a winner!). It was jungle themed. I'm yellow team. We won. Probably because my nails said "RAWR" on them.

I tend to get all dressed up with no where to go. It's the story of my life, and I don't hate it. It's better than not being dressed up and having no where to go. Because if you have no where to go, you might as well get all dressed up! Because that makes sense! That was not intended to sound sarcastic! Rather, it is the truth! BAM.

And I must say that the whole "Autumn thing" is suiting my fancy. Mostly because it suits my tights' fancy. We're basically the same thing (me and my tights). It's okay, it's alright. I cleared the air, the rumors are faced. STOP FRETTING KIDS.

Right now life is feeling a little surreal. Not necessarily a bad thing, but more like I'm in a constant dream, knowing that my memories will all blur together in the near future. I sound like a headless doll chanting these poetically dark thoughts. Which doesn't make sense. But anyways...

I like ending my posts with a question because it becomes an open discussion. I picture us sitting in a circle by a camp fire, drumming on a guitar, singing Kumbaya whilst exchanging warm fuzzies and fuzzy mittens and mittened... yeah... that's all...
When was the last time you had to pinch yourself to make sure that this was "real life"?
(Or am I the only one that actually does this? PLEASE SAY NO.)

I love how sorta 80s-bright-color-psychadelic-chic-fierce this outfit is; it's contagious how fun it is!

Though it saddens me greatly to hear that you're not a HP fan. :( I grew up loving that magical kid!

I think the last time I had to pinch myself (figuratively though, I rarely pinch myself in real life) must've been when my friend was texting me about this movie she was watching and I had NO IDEA what she was uttering about. This happened approximately ten minutes ago, too. :D

Obsessed with your tights and hairpiece. And like your whole outfit, basically.

Last time I had to pinch myself to remind myself that it was real life was Thursday. I chopped my hair off and did not recognize myself in the mirror. Needless to say, it was a little bit of an odd experience.

I love your nails & head piece :)

The last time I pinched myself was when there were weeks that went by where I didn't get enough sleep because I was so busy - I had to pinch to see if I was still awake haha.

girl, you're having an existential crisis or something! but yeah, that totally happens all the time. sometimes life moves too fast and then you're like, WHERE AM I WHO AM I and it's FREAKY.

..and now i sound like i need to be checked into a mental institution. haha

You are SO not the only one who does that! Seriously, sometimes I wake up and say to myself "Am I really alive, or is this a dream?" I'm only too glad to hear that you do this too - I thought I was the only one! :P

I have so many things to say about this post so I'm going to make a list

1) your outfit rocks and you look goooorgeous as usual!
2) who says you can't pair prints with patterns?!! I love it that you "broke" that rule because as far as I'm concerned, there are no rules in dressing oneself to feel awesome.
3) I can't imagine how you painted letters on your nails. I guess I'm just very inept with nail polishes.
4) Did I tell you already that you're gorgeous, because you really, really are.
5)To answer your question, the last time I pinched myself to test reality was ironically during one of my very intense dreams and I ACTUALLY felt pain...so I guess pinching oneself isn't a great way to draw the line between the physical and metaphysical. I suggest harsher methods like punching oneself. Or you can flap your arms and attempt to fly and if you succeed, you're definitely dreaming.

I would have to say there were only maybe three points in my life that felt too good/weird/strange to be real, the most recent having been six months ago -- when I was on vacation in Italy and found out I wasn't going to be getting on my plane and flying home because of a volcano.

So Yes, I am quite devastated that you have not produced a unicorn for me. really. you had better rename your post, pronto!

I so love the leopard tights they rock my socks!

I love the song 'Puff the Magic Dragon', brings back childhood memories. Didn't Puff die in the end of the song? Trying to remember. I'll just look up the lyrics.

Oh and the only time I ever pinched myself to see in it was 'real life' was when I was a kid and I wanted to see if I would 'wake up' if I pinched myself like they do in the movies.

If that makes any sense:D

You're not a HP fan, I'm not a HP fan...CYBER HIGH FIVE! Wooooot! I totally feel yo on the whole memories will all blur together in the future, senior year for me is already blurry and it was only a mere year ago! It saddens me but we move on and move forward onto better and greater things!

Last time I had to pinch myself to assure that this is real...basically every time I walk onto campus. I can't believe I'm already a college freshmen going to such a great college. I feel like at any moment I could wake up and this would all be a dream. But then I get into class and sit down for a midterm and I WISH this was all a dream and I could wake up ASAP. Ohh college, such a bittersweet experience!

LOVE YOUR OUTFIT! Those tights, A+! You always look so put together and random and adorable, ALL THE TIME! Teach me your ways!

P.S. BIIIGG thanks for following me, that made my day :)

You're too much fun! I love the mix of prints with the leopard and polka dots. The vibrant pink blazer brings it all together really!

Pinching myself? Hmmm....probably when I went into The Bay today and saw that they had the Christmas decorations out! It's like a fun little fairytale ride in there. Sleigh bells and horses. I walked right into one of them!

CDG said...

This outfit is simply perfect! Whatever the hell is in your hair, I want it! Now! Leopard and polkadots are like pb&j or unicorns and glitter (I stole that from some car insurance commercial.)The fashion police is lame and I'm pretty sure they dissed an Alexander McQueen dress once, which makes them completely unimaginative, boring idiots. So commit more fashion crimes you rebel! Hmm the last time I had to pinch myself was Thursday at 11:53 PM. Oh yeahhh details!

Stevia said...

Yes unicorn rules!

I love your blazer. It's so pink!

Pinch my self? Why would I do that? Living in the dream is.. the dream. Err.. yeah..

I love your nails. Seriously. They're. .. .. let me come up with a good word ... ... magic! :D Supercool!!

The last time I had to pinch myself was... saturdaymorning... I got on a plane to the UK when the day before I still was attending school and had to do yet another presentation in front of the class.. and I... well I don't know.. I don't pinch myself, but it's figuratively speaking. (is figuratively an english word? because I think I just made a dutch word sound english :') )
