1.0 i'm a barbie girl, in a barbie world

This is the first of a series. "What kind of series?" you may ask. Well. I will look at you straight in the eyes. I will not blush or shrug my shoulders. I will not mumble a response. Rather, my shoulders will be back, my head will be high, my voice will exude confidence. "Barbie clothes I sewed over the summer. That is the series."

It will also be known as "The series that proves that I do not have a life." Either of the quotations rings true. I have an excuse! I have five-year-old girl cousin. I think you guys have enough imagination to fill in the blanks. See! Five year old! Girl! Cousin! Barbies! Sewing! Sewing barbie clothes for cousin girl five year old! GET WITH IT GUYS.

Outfit One: I think that the fact that I have a five year old girl cousin is enough of an explanation for a pink tutu with a big bow. So I'm going to leave it at that: five year old girl cousin.

Outfit 2: This Barbie is going for a powerful-chic-business-women-meets-Posh-Spice-inspired-look. Damn. Look at me talking about my Barbie clothes like they're real people. I mean, psh. Barbies ARE real people! In my imagination! Hahhhh!

I miss Barbie-land quite a little bit. There's something very refreshing about seeing children playing with their dolls, as opposed to engrossed in the world of the internet and media. People sometimes argue that Barbie's a bad example for children with her "perfect proportions" and blah blah blah. And while the lack of Azn ^_^ Barbies in the Value Village bags did make me long for some reppin', ultimately, I say "Let the kid play with the Barbie!" Better than other things they can be doing.

(Barbie is wearing clothes sewn by me.)

While I'm slightly nostalgic for Barbie, what I've REALLY been longing for as of late is ZOOM. Do you remember ZOOM? I always thought that Kenny sounded like "Silly." Which was really historical. Of course, his name wasn't Silly. It was Kenny. Isn't that all just so silly?! (I miss the days where things were described as simply being "silly.")

And I wanted to be Caroline. OH SO VERY BADLY.

I wish that first dress was real life. I'd wear it to da clubz.
I wish barbie clothes were real life. So much easier to make everything close with VELCRO! yaaay

and zoom was the best!

wow, you have amazing sewing skills.. i used to have a gazillion of barbies (i even hv the one where she's marilyn monroe) and ended up chopping their hair and ripping their clothes off.. hahahaha and i always hate their shoes coz most of them are alike in shape. i wonder what made me so tyrannical back then.. maybe i was just jealous of the barbie's perfect figure.. hahaha

have a good day..

If not, please just send me these barbie clothes now. I'll find a way to make them fit me. I just want to wear a tutu with pink checkers and black&white polkadots, damn it!
Come on Barbie Let's go party. Ah ah ah yeahhh. (sorry, I had to do that)

First of all, THESE CLOTHES ARE AMAZING! You should be doing something with your talent!

Second, have you noticed the change in facial features on Barbie over the years? I think they change her following the "real" changes in what's considered beauty at the moment being.

And also, no I don't have an YT channel, I've been thinking about it , don't know why I don't do it ... ?

god bless barbie. she taught me never to team polka dots with stripes for a job interview.
kidding!
or am i?
seriously though i don't see what the problem with barbie's perfect proportions are. those idiotic bratz dolls have massive heads but nobody's going round shouting about those!
:') the sewing is awesome btw. you ever thought of doing it for human sized humans?

I miss my barbies too!
And I even miss Kelly (the little one)
I used to bring a barbie everywhere. And I used to super obsessed with their pretty little outfits, all I did everytime we went to the toy store is to find outfits for my barbie.
Ah, beautiful times..

The tutu + bow + pink = classic barbie look

I couldn't agree more! I prefer to see kids playing with their toys rather than sitting in front of TV or computer!

Can't wait to see what's next!

i totally get what you mean about kids being immersed in internet too much rather than playing real toys..we have a lot of pinoy street games and i was playing all of them as kids...and now it's upsetting to think that kids today don't have even know play the most basic hide and seek...

ps. barbie is sooo chic girl! plaid and polka..whoa!

Oh my god, memories!!!! I used to make clothes for my barbie all the time. Except I never really have a real Barbie doll because I grew up in China and all we had were cheap knock off barbies that broke easily. Regardless, I feel your nostalgia.
