awkward situationzzz.

Hi there. Hi. How are you? Good, you? Good. [awkward pause].

"well, this is awkward."

Unless you're some supreme conversationalist (and props to you, I perspire slight envy towards you), I think it's safe to say that most people find themselves in awkward situations/ conversations. Usually with people that are different from you, just because you don't think that you have any common ground to cover (totally disagree, but that's a WHOLE other post). Take high school: the "cool" kids rarely talk to the "dorky" kids and vice versa. And when they do, there's some sort of emphasized awkwardness between the two groups. Almost as if to emphasize that BAM, we are so, like, not related, like, duhhh.

I don't really identify myself with either of these groups, preferring to sit in the centre of the spectrum. But you know, I spy on my classmates. (But not actually. Stop thinking your thoughts, IM NOT A CREEP.)

BUT, I recently heard on the radio that the "weird kids" in high school turn out to be the most interesting people as adults because they ACTUALLY HAVE THINGS TO SAY AND OPINIONS TO SPEAK. I can totally see it.

TELL ME A STORY. A story of the most interesting person you can think of. Come back and tell me. I really want to know.

(p.s. if you don't want to tell me... then just scroll down and comment on my clothes or whatever.......... I didn't mean that in a mean way. Hah. Two 'means' in one sentence.)

Most interesting person I would consider to be myself. Lol! I seriously kind of think so. Other than myself it would be my sister or cousin, but no one in school. Simply because the immaturity level is high and because like you said...no one really talks with people from other groups. People barely talk at all with their own groups! All everyone wants to do is get wasted or super high. I am not one of them. I have been told by many people(including people from my school) that I am one of the few that actually can maintain a decent conversation. I hate the whole, "Hey what's up?" "Nothing much. How about you?" "Oh, I am on the computer relaxing at home and listening to some music." "So have you done anything?" "No." "Nice. I hate when I don't do anything and feel super bored." "Yeah."- You get my point by now. I don't know what it is with kids today in day, but something has to be done about this situation.

Such a cute illustration... I love the deeper meaning. It made me think.

And I agree with you, most of the "weird" kids back when I was in school turned out to be the more successful and yes, the more interesting people I know now. xoxo

love your drawings :) and yes i totally get what you mean by the whole awkwardness. i try though to make things less awkward but sometimes there are moments. :)

i think in a way its true bout the whole weird kids back in hs..i was well one of them (weird in the sense that i chose not to hang out with the popular kids and stuck to my extracurricular activities) well it all depends really. everyone seems to be interesting if we just pay enough attention. :)

by the way, i passed on the happy 101 award to you! :) check out my blog for the rules k? :*

The illustration it's absolutely great! I love it! It's funny and shows the idea in such a cute way!

I can understand you point of view but fortunately, here in Romania people are not so separated in highschool. At least they weren't when I was in highschool..:P

I loved this post - it is so true in every way - I always have those conversations with people that just die and you can practically see the tumbleweed.

Completely agree about being in the middle of the spectrum and that the weird kids make more interesting adults.

Thanks so much for stopping by darling =]

Before you think "Chh, how typical...", hear me out: My husband is the most interesting person I've ever met. I mean it. If I didn't, I wouldn't have married him. He grew up with such a hard life and he doesn't hold it against anyone. He's so talented. He just tries something and he's a master at it: a true Renaissance man. He's sweet, kind, angry, intelligent, mean, intense, talented, wonderful, weird, random... and interesting. He's a Mexican born 23 year-old named Jairo who loves anime, video games, writes poetry, listens to Tupac and majors in theater. I mean... really. He's amazing.

I'm an extremly excellent conversationlist, I can talk to any one for hours and hours - but by the end of the day they may be frightened of me - in fact, that happens a lot. Also I think "popular" people are sometimes even more interesting than the "geeks". I don't know if you have read the outsiders but te book shows the popuar people have it like the losers.

Being a good conversationalist can take up a lot of energy if it doesn't come naturally! It is a gift to be proud of!

I adore the illustrations, haha x

YES OH MY GOD, WE CAN RELATE, WE CAN DAMN RELATE! like if I was to meet you this instance, there's is defs going to be some awkward moments unless we like plan tons of topics to discuss to! HAHAHAHAHAHA, oh I hate awkward! thats why I talk non-stop sometimes :/ but yes weird people are interesting! whereas the normal boring people are like kind of lifeless.

I suppose that the two groups are awkward when conversing. But for me, I'm not in either group, and I am completely fine hanging out with both. I think the radio is defining it incorrectly. I disagree with the radio statistic though. I now plenty of people in the "weird group" who have absolutely no individualism. I think that really depends on who you are and how diverse you are, not your social group! Lovely post. Sorry for the paragraph long comment...

fuck yes to weird kids. normal kids can go suck up on each other's normalness, while we venture off into another dimension!

cute illustration, btw.

i think my legs are that hairy!!!LOL.
i am always in an awkward situation because i don't always know what to say..hehe. it's just absurd to me how some people can just ask whatever they like.... i usually relate to goofing around with the guys than just sit around with the girls..all prim and proper.hehe.

most interesting person i know? hmmmm..my mom. :D she was once asked how to take out a very difficult stain..and she bluntly said, "just cut it out..." imagine ending up with a hole in your shirt...no stain, just a hole. sometimes i don't know what goes on in her head..and sometimes i think i take after her. :D

Fia is intersting, my friend. She's from Canada and India and Sweden but nobody believes her. Oooh, and she like Japan. She has a blog too. And a brother called Max. He has a blog too. And she's just really cool. (:
