clashing time

Ho-ho-ho-llo! (I'm trying to say "Hello" in a Christmas way. I mean, OOPS. Darn. I said I wouldn't use any more cheesy Christmas expressions. That was the last one. I promise.) But, I do hope that you all had a joyous Christmas time. Mine was great, thanks for asking!

I love these blue tights. I've worn them to the point where those gross little balls of fabric start showing up (you know what I'm talking about?). This time, when I wore them, these obnoxious little girls (don't get me wrong, I love children for the most part) were giving me these weird looks and un-discretely yelling "OOOOH LOOOOOK BLUUUUUEEEE" in that obnoxious child-manner. I gave them evil glares in return. I'm such a grinch. Them and this ADORABLE BOY make me think that, if I ever have kids, a little, quiet, sweet boy wouldn't be too bad.

Having lots of free-time, I occasionally have the tendency of "surfing" - as the verb goes (I think it's weird)- the web for a tad too long. But oh well. I found this fantastic article featuring beautiful fashion illustrations. I got inspired and gave it my mere attempt. Emphasis on mere. Please don't make fun.

Speaking of fun (kind of, sort of, anyways...), it was fun to draw/paint this. Kind of just splattered stuff and went with the flow; I might try it again sometime. Details of such splatters..

Finally, I have some super duper exciting news... I'm on the cover of NYLON Magazine!!

JUST KIDDING. Fooled ya, didn't I? Well, it's not exactly NYLON, but it's still totally amazing, I'm featured on Michelle's fabulous site - Glisters and Blisters.

I'm so excited! I'm pretty much one step away from running around my house screaming of joy and smashing pinatas (no, I don't have pinatas hanging around my house. But if I did, I would smash them). Luckily, I do have some self-control. It's such a great post, including an interview (not to sound all narcissistic and "y'all should know me cuz I'm great," but, you know..) so CHECK IT OUT. Thanks again, Michelle! (Also: credit to Michelle for the "NYLON cover." I can't use Photoshop to the point where it's almost embarrassing. But I so love her skills!)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
How was your Christmas?

Enjoy the holidays!

I can't even....omg haha. You're SO funny it's not even funny. Coming on your blog always always always makes my day. That drawing/painting you made is so cool, and I love the red paint dripping as the lips. Also, congrats on your feature! You totally deserve it, I agree 100% with everything she said. My Christmas was EXTREMELY random, and not that Christmas-y but it was still great. Hope you have a happy new year!

Lexy, I saw your interview at Michelle's blog. You are awesome girl.

My tip for looking taller in pics: well, I dress in monochromes so I look really tall. And angle the camera lower than your height so that you will look taller.

my teacher always tells me that textures in painting is the best . if you can play with textures really well, then its a sign that you're a good artish ;)

u sud try using watercolor on newspaper ! i think u'll love how the small words peek out here and there.. bt the technique works only on bigger scaled pieces..if the piece is too small, then the effect will b too busy..

and glad you liked the feature :D
i always feel happy myself if i can make others happy too . haha.. im very happy to have u on my blog darling ! the visitors love u..i also noticed extra 14 followers since last night (or noon over there in canada) eighh???

love ur blog as always .

that nylon shocked the hell out of me :D didn't see that coming.

but yes, i do believe we are soul sisters and if only i lived in canada, i would so become your bff :DD

and congrats on the feature! i read it and it was good. i know what you mean about the sister making comments thing. my sister's like that.

but honestly, i am like you when it comes to hanging out with friends. it's not that i'm anti-social (MAYBE SOMETIMES!) but i just prefer not being normal and rather doing things that I want to do, not things that would be acceptable to other people. besides, malls are so...generic. doncha think?

see here i go again leaving you extra long comments. but yeah, til next post :DD
