i'm so sly, i'm typing this post as i'm in french class

can you say rebel? yeah, i know. i like to live on the edge.

speaking of school (kind-of), this outfit strangely reminded me of Blair Waldorf. I think it has to do with the blazer and bright tights kind of thing, no?

If my hair looks wet in this picture that's because.. it's wet. Yeah, i take showers at 4:00pm on the weekend. That's weird? You're weird.

This is pretty much my fall wardrobe: bright tights, bright blazer, loose shirt, and full skirt! Thankfully, I've got more surprises for you all, muchos gracias to Value Village. New articles of clothing will be shown (after they are worn (after they are washed)) soon!

i can wiggle my ears, i can't roll my tongue

I kind of wish I had a yellow chick to put on my shoulder, because I feel like it would match my outfit. I'm thinking of a particular bird's name, but I can't put my finger on it. I tried to Google it, but "chickpea" turned out to be peas, and "chickopee" turned out to be a gun. Yikes. I just Googled "chickadee," which is a bird, but not what I'm thinking of. Come to think of it, I think I'm envisioning the mascot for "chickadee Magazine," my childhood favourite magazine. Did you guys ever read that? Definitely should of. Those jokes derived half of my childhood fits of giggles. They were funny, I swear!

I miss doing DIYs. This headband is an ode to the summer of DIYs; I wear it all the time.

I love statement necklaces, but I have a problem with statement dresses. I can't do them! I consider this dress a "statement dress" because I'm sure it'd look great on its own. But my brain is wired so I can't wear it on its own. It's quite problematic, to be honest. But there's this wire in my brain that goes "Girl. You can't wear that by itself. Someone might be wearing it. Girl. You can't wear that by itself. Someone might be wearing it." Stupid brain. You get me?

Um. Anyways. Moving onto normalcy... I hope you guys have a wonderful week! And remember what I always say: its only 33 more days until Christmas. (Okay, I've never said this. I don't actually do a count down, but I just saw it on Facebook and I thought it'd be a fun fact). Yeah..

crayola tendencies

Primary colours, woohoo! Spent a great bulk of the day at the mall, running errands, including stalking the Apple store to play with their big, shiny toys. I've decided that I love the colours of the new Ipod nanos, and I plan on buying tights in these very colours. (On another note, I don't understand the purpose of video cameras in an Ipod? So random. But I guess Apple kind of is. Have you tried all their Apps? There's one for, like, everything.)

I basically love tights, which have become a staple in my wardrobe. For some reason, most people don't have mustard-coloured tights and feel the need to give me dirty looks? I mean, you're just jealous your legs don't look like Bart Simpsons'. Pffft..

And what would a post be without the mention of weather? (Give me a break, I'm from Canada! ..Just poking fun at you Canada, don't you worry.) Anyways, as you can see from this outfit, I'm now all bundled up in blazers and tights. Feeling slightly nostalgic for the sunny weather, only days ago.

Oh well, I love layering clothes and fall is definitely fun for that. So what, sun? I'm still a rock star. I've got my layered clothes. And I don't neeeed you tonightttt. (Guess the obnoxiously catchy song? Seriously, if I hear it once, it gets stuck in my head.)

Hope you've had a good week, my friends! And, not to be obnoxious or anything, but if you haven't already, update my link quirkyexplosion.blogspot.com!

What are your weekend plans?

this is the start of something new

(*cringe* sorry, I couldn't think of a better title. But, you know, some good ole' fashion High School Musical doesn't hurt.. ahem..)

Anyways, if you are here, that means you are at quirkyexplosion.blogspot.com. Oh la la! Yes, I changed my site name. I've wanted to for a while, so I was like "stop dreaming and do it, girl" (except, you know, not.) I think it suits my blog better. Anyways, you can read more about that mumbo-jumbo-fun-stuff right about here!

My mum told me not to "dress up for summer" (apparently sun does not = warmth). Guess what? I'm such a rebel and did anyways. I know, I know. Please hold your gasps. I didn't listen to Mummmyyy! Nananabooboo. Oh, wait. Let's be mature here..

Purchased this awesomely childish bag at Value Village, which I centered my outfit around. I feel as though a child designed this. Which I love.

I'm particularly excited for Monday because it is the Value Village 50% off sale. And I have no school that day! I'm pretty much prepared to fight the old ladies for the dressing rooms. Warning: If you are elderly and plan on going to such a historical event, be prepared to face the wrath of my ex-wrestling skills. Just saying.

I try to pretend I can take photos. Now I'm pretending I can edit videos. Enjoyish? :)

If you guys could update your links to my new name (but same blog!), I would appreciate it so much that I would jump through the computer screen, have your pictures come to life and hug you. Obviously this is not possible, but just to put it in perspective. But honestly, comment if you do and I will virtually hug you or something equally gratifying.

Thanks a bunch! Also, I can't believe the number of comments I've gotten. Thank you so much, I will visit your blogs very soon!

Artsy friends would be a great asset to my life, I reck'n

I really can't put what I'm about to say in any other words besides, "OMG I'M SO HAPPY IT WAS SUNNY TODAY!" (classy, I know.) The weather has been crazy (ie hailing - yes, hailing - on Thursday), definitely giving Canada its much deserved stereotype of "always bad weather." Except for not really, because the weather was fantastic today!

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic

Yeah, I fully intended to take nice pictures outside, but there's this little problem called daylight savings, where the sun decides to set before I even eat dinner. I'm not a fan of this predicament.

I'm hoping that the sun stays out this week and doesn't, say, drop the h-bomb (hail, guys, hail). Kind of ironic that the weather is finally warm and I'm not allowed to wear my kilt to school, because I refuse to lower it to my knee cap. Seriously, why, teachers, why?

Sorry for the lack of posts, this week has been crazy filled with field hockey (gold medal, baby! Does it even count if I barely played? Yes, I say so.) Hopefully more posts with weekends free of field hockey and therefore outfits besides athletic attire. Yay!

Hope you guys have a sun-tastic (yeah, that's right) week! Stay bright, cheery, and fabulous! :)

TRICK OR TREAT

What's not to love about Halloween? Dressing up? Free Candy? Spirit? Sounds like a day of fun! Okay, yes, I will admit that I'm a self-proclaimed Halloween dork. I eagerly shop for my outfit at Value Village. I coo at all the adorable little kids. I trick-or-treat instead of party. And I munch on candy for months (literally!). I love Halloween.

^A fat tourist in the sea of cutesy cats and cowgirls? I told you I was a dork.

I was so excited to finally find someone to go trick-or-treating with me. It's always been an event I look forward to. I wish I took a picture of my organization of candy (okay, every little kid sorts their candy into piles!), but I guess that's a little embarrassing.

I literally was out, door-to-door, until the last possible minute!

I love candy so much that, last year, I decorated my laptop with candy wrappers! Yummy!
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I feel like this post is on the verge of embarrassing, but I don't have any shame. Halloween is probably one of my guilty pleasures. I was pretty let down this year by the lack of dressing up (ahem, wearing a mask with your regular clothes is not a costume!) and the lack of trick-or-treaters. I hope that Halloween isn't a dying holiday. I love it! And I love all your comments (har-har, I'm so sneaky at concluding). Posting will be slow this week, just as a heads up. So, boo-hoo (har-har, get it?! like, a ghost? Um..) Thanks so much for stopping by!

How was your Halloween? Post links to any pictures!
